On Tuesday, I talked about how life has been going ten million miles a minute. I didn’t disclose many (any) details, but luckily, blogland is giving me that opportunity. It’s the 7th Inning Stretch, and today, I get to talk about Camden Yards, the greatest ballpark around, while sharing some exciting news with all of you.
So, earlier this week, Paul and I shared some big news via Facebook
: we’re leaving Charleston and moving to Baltimore. While we loved living in the Lowcountry for the past nine months, we miss our family and our friends, and we are so excited to start this next chapter of our lives together in our favorite city.
Like I said, life has been happening. There are a million different things going on as we prepare to move, and holy smokes! June 10th will be here before we know it. We’ve got the moving truck reserved, we’ve paid our first month’s rent, and we’re planning on going to the O’s/Red Sox game the night we move in to our new place.
I have blogged on several occasions
about my love for the Baltimore Orioles
, but I have yet to talk about how much I love Camden Yards. It’s probably my favorite place in the entire world, and it has been a (not so) secret dream of mine for a long time to live within walking distance. Luckily for me, I fell in love with a fellow Baltimore fan, and now, I get to literally live the dream.
We are moving five minutes (walking) from Camden Yards. FIVE MINUTES. WALK. As in, I could get off work, throw on some orange and black, and then take in a game. I could go on weeknights and still be asleep by 11. This move is going to change my life because I can solve a bad day by watching the Baltimore Orioles play baseball in the most magical ballpark in the USA. It also may bankrupt me because, hello, baseball tickets cost money.
The O’s are sitting right where I want to be sitting right now: hovering somewhere around .500 (albeit below as of today), still well within the pack of the AL East, and poised to take off in a big way after the All Star break. I still have faith that we’re going to the playoffs this year. And when we do, I will walk to the game.
Here’s to life and all the adventures that come with! Go O’s!
